Visual bookmarking and discovery platform Pinterest has more than 100 million monthly active users. This milestone was revealed in a report by The New York Times earlier today and seemingly confirmed by engineer Tracy Chou in a Tweet.
Having over 100 million MAUs isn’t something to shake a stick at. By comparison, it’s a fraction of Facebook’s 1.49 billion MAUs — it took four years to hit 100 million MAUs , but seems to be nearly a third of Twitter’s 316 million MAUs — it took five years to hit this milestone, as well as another visual competitor (albeit in a tad different field) Instagram.
