The last time Apple updated its iPads, it was easy. The company introduced the new iPad Pros, and if you were in the market for the most powerful, most expensive models, you had your answer. And equally if you didn’t need that power, or for some reason had other things to spend a thousand bucks on, you still had the iPad.
Strictly speaking you also had the iPad mini, but until the 2019 refresh, that was last updated in 2015.
