France’s largest bricks-and-mortar retailer by sales is buying one of the country’s largest web-only merchants. French supermarket chain Carrefour SA, No. 21 in the Internet Retailer 2015 Europe 500 Guide, announced plans to acquire electronics and home appliances e-retailer Rue du Commerce (No. 57) from French investment firm Altarea Cogedim for an undisclosed price.
