Android pay-shunning Barclays has released its own contactless payments service that supports transactions up to £100 and can be used anywhere contactless cards work.
Barclays customers can download the app from the Google Play store, select a relevant card then follow some step-by-step instructions to make the Barclays app the default payment option for their Android smartphone.
Users can then pay simply by waking up the smartphone and tapping it against a contactless terminal.
